Eurospider was founded in 1995 as a spin-off from the Federal
Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) by the current
CEO Dr. Peter Schäuble, in order to commercialize the information
retrieval system that had been developed under his management.
With its tailor-made solutions, Eurospider quickly built
up a good image for itself and the necessary trust in both
the private sector and government organizations. With the
Swiss Federal Supreme Court and the Zentralbibliothek Zürich, two
important, publicly accessible projects were realized that
lead to mouth-to-mouth propaganda.
In 2001, after five successful years and an increase to 20
employees, Eurospider decided to allow the strategic expansion
of the company to be supported by the Zurich Cantonal Bank.
In addition to the expansion of the software development,
the setting up of a professional Marketing and Sales team
was a priority.
